Goals & Fields Reminder

1. After your practice or your game, please return the goal to the nearest fence. It should not be left on the field or in between the two large fields. It is your responsibility to do this and not the team playing or practicing after you. If the coach for the next practice or game asks you to leave it on the field, then it will be their responsibility to move it after they are finished.

As you probably have noticed, the fields are lined by Saanich parks staff who also do the grass cutting and other field maintenance.  Saanich staff do not want goals left on the field. We have already noticed damage to some goals that was probably caused by Saanich staff using their tractors to move the goals in order to finish their work.

2. When your team is practicing shots on goal at a practice, please do not place the goal in the regular goal area. This applies to both the goal areas for full field and the half field areas.  Move it out/sideways 5-10 metres. The goal areas are the first areas where the grass breaks down and disappears and we do not need to speed it up.

3. Just a further reminder about home games being postponed for whatever reason, you must notify both the referees coordinator and game scheduler that your team will not be playing their home game on that weekend.

Lochside Park Lights

The lights are on a timer at Lochside Park. The electricity is timed to come on each day at 4:30 PM and go off at 10:00 PM. However, this does not mean that the LIGHT SWITCHES at the clubhouse can be left in the ON position. The light switches must be turned OFF each night after practice or after any scheduled evening games or else the lights will automatically come on at 4:30 PM the next day. This has happened once already this year. If you are the last team to practice on any evening or you have a scheduled game in the evening, please make sure that the light switches are turned off and the light box is locked.

Lower Island Soccer Association (LISA)LISA, together with BC Soccer Association, regulates all youth league play on Lower Vancouver Island through its constitution, bylaws, and rules of play. It is your responsibility as a coach to be familiar with these rules and bylaws.

At a minimum you must read the LISA Coaching Manual and the LISA policy on Performance Bonds & Fines.

Game Confirmations

Coaches are reminded to contact your opposing coach on Wednesday or Thursday before your weekend game to confirm the place and time of your game. If there is a heavy rainfall the day before your game, you might make a second contact to make sure nothing has changed.
